ok, I know...you're thinking, 'what kind of topic is this?' But, hopefully everyone is getting used to my mushy crap, and will just skip it if need be.

I had a really hard day today. It was my last day working in my elementary school. The kids and teachers said good-bye to me with letters, flowers, candles and a grate big gift card so I could buy myself something nice. :)

I cried all day (I know, girlie stuff)....
I start a new career on monday, and I'm nervous and scared... and sad after today.

Well, I come online to read what's been going on around here, and I'm noticing A LOT of new friends posting, some for the very first time today!! Absolutely cool!
I cannot tell you what a little lift it gave my soul to see it. :)

So, welcome everybody!
Please don't go back into lurk mode.

Hey Dancin' - Good-bye's are always tough.

Did I read you'll be working at Boreal Ridge?? That sounds cool. I had a very good friend who worked up at Donner Summit for years. I still know some good folks up that way...

P.S. - Thanks for my very own thread. I posted a reply/acceptance speech. Check it out!

hello to you darkeyes! glad you joined the party. On monday I become a merchandiser for Shop Rites throughout South Jersey, about 41 different stores. I'll represent products and set-up shelving, pricing and displays. Big difference from what I was making $$$ wise before. Couldn't pass up the opportunity.

rough day??? soryy to hear that - bummer

you will do well though - just can tell from your demeanor from what i know of you. friendly but aggressive in a positive way. that is a real good combination in the business world - you can have the world on your fingertips with that if you know how to play it - and i think you will learn that really fast if you dont know it already. my best to you next week my dear friend - my prayers are with you - dont be nervous - you will do great, trust me!!!

"friendly but aggressive in a positive way."

I'm taking that as a compliment. :)

yes, take that as a compliment - no sarcasm whatsoever intended. you know you will do well dancin - you have the personality, the drive, the attititude, and the willingness to succeed for your family and yourself. i have no doubt you will do well and will prosper.

i'm doin much better thanks - back to my old self after a couple of days of moping - the good folks here got me on my feet again and things are cool. time heals all wounds - i just need to be patient with this particularly nasty break - it is what it is - a couple of LMA dudes shared thir stories with similar vicious injuries and their long recoveries - so that helped.

good people out here - whether their help is through abuse, general humor, or comiseration, it all works in its own way. - these people have been a godsend - thanks all!!!

I'm glad to hear this. I'm glad your friends were there for you.

This forum has become much more 'friendlier' lately, that's for sure. Everybody's been posting things and trying to get to know one another. Even though they're still 'debating', the tone is different.

Just my observation. :)

I should have read further on down the thread.

The bottom line is the bottom line and more is more. Have fun spending all that new-found cash. Good luck!

Me and the sales manager at my job are in "negotiations"* to increase my workload and income.

*Translation: he'll run me a bunch of BS for the next couple of months or so with big plans that will most likely never see the light of day.

well waynecs, a double welcome to you then! one for here, and one for 'hook! You'll be in good company either place!

you'll have to tell me what your screen name is there thou. There are quite a few of us now at both places, and I made a big boo-boo this past week, because I have a hard time remembering those that have 2 different screen names. (I need to write it down)

p.s. To Ducats: Sorry about the mix-up this past week! I didn't realize it was you.
